Its that time......

for cards like this. I have a tradition of creating a card and sweet bag of goodies for my boys, they have come to expect it every year for valentines day. Now I didnt think this could happen but must confess that as my boys got older I burned out on carving pumpkins, making fresh decorated valentine cookies, valentine goodie bags, dying easter eggs, easter baskets etc. You know all the fun things you do with your kiddos for the holidays. One year( not long ago) I didnt do a valentine goodie and the BOYS noticed and called me on it. They let me know I ALWAYS have something and they wanted to know what happened. So after a short hiatus from the holiday fun stuff I got my self in gear.

Its been a long week and I am so happy that tomorrow is FRIDAY. I had this page open yesterday and was just too pooped to finish it up. I feel a little better today as I slept like a log last night. I do LUV when I sleep like that:)

So I thought it would be fun to have a little blog blurb called Whats on my Desk, if you choose to leave a comment I would luv to know whats on your desk too!!

Whats on my Desk today:

A stack of swap cards that need to go in the mail
Febuary stamp of the month called Piece of Cake (SUPER CUTE)
EK succes embossed curve border punch
My black berry ( its never far away)
Unfinished scrap page of Kam in the snow
Sspool of glue dots
TV remote
Pack of pictures waiting to be scrapped
Mango Mandarin body splash by Bath&Body ( I use it for room freshener)
Buttons
The stamps I used to make this card 3 days ago

I LUV the dollar stamps at Michaels, I bought 24 new stamps. Felt like I went on a major shopping spree.

For this card I used Taylored Expression sketch. I cut a piece of felt with my scallop scissors, I backed the cupid and the script in the same polka dot base paper and popped them off the paper, you know thats a favorite thing for me to do. Used some colored bling and chocolate ribbon. I really like all the fun things I did on this card.

ETA: Felt is so fun to work with, its super cheap and comes in lots of colors. trace letters on it and cut them out, stamp images like cupcake tops or flowers and cut them out, cut scallop borders,or use your pinking shears to cut squares. A favorite is to use your die cut machine to cut out flowers or other fun shapes.

One of my favorite people to hang out with, is he cute or what?

Its Friday friends!!

Yaayy its Friday!!! HaPpY FrIdAy to you!!!

Well the BIG storm didnt seem so big in my town, it didnt bring any snow just TONS of rain. It did snow in the next city which is only 10 minutes away. I some of you may be getting more snow than you want, us californians just want a day or two each year.

I have no big plans this weekend. I wouldnt mind a date night with the husband, he promised to see The Lovely Bones with me. I do want to bake a cake, I am in the baking mood. I made 2 dozen cupcakes with fresh butter cream frosting that were FABULOUS. Made them on Tuesday and there was one left this morning, its gone now:)

Todays card showcases the January stamp of the month True Friends and was created for my spot in the stamp of the month standing swap.

Kept it pretty simple, pierced some faux stitching on the sorbet and drew the thread with my chocolate marker and inked the edges with sorbet ink. I cut out the frame and popped it off the paper, stamped the frame a second time and cut out the center inked the edges in brown and popped it off the blue frame. Last I inked the stripe paper in sweet leaf before piecing it all together.

Stormy Tuesday

2:15 PM snow flurries!!!

3:15 PM no snow, no rain, some blue sky peeking through AARRGGHH

ETA: Book of Eli, was so good. I will see it again with my Aunt.

They say the worst of our 3 storms is yet to arrive, Thursday is supposed to be the day. Hopefully by the end of the week it will snow and it will stick and the schools will close. See here in So Calif a little snow on the ground causes everything to come to a halt. Okay I know we just came back from a 3 week vaction and this week is only 4 days but who dosent wish for a snow day?

So you know its the begining of a new year and many people are starting there Projecct Life books, last year this project was called Picture a day or was it project 365. Well the big question to myself is will you attempt this again? because last year you pooped out. I have a excuse I dont print my own pictures, well I could I own 2 photo, printers, scanners, one even fax's. I dont know why I dont print at home. One of those things that make you say HHHMMM. I thought this project would help me scrap everyday, I have to say it didnt.

Those awesome snow pictures and that beautiful paper has been sitting on my desk all weekend. I told you I was slow, Iam actually stuck, I get stuck alot and I hate it. I always think if I scrap more things will flood in naturally and I wont struggle , I think I am expecting too much of myself, putting too much pressure on myself.

I will shut up now, thanks for the therapy!

Yeah for saturday!!

Whatcha up too? I am watching the ice skating championship, teams are battling it out for a spot on the US Olympic team. There are tears of joy and sorrow. I luv this sport, my sister skated when you was a little girl for several years. We lived at the ice rink, she had a awesome coach who taught her well. My sis competed and it had us on the road, it was so fun!! We had all of her competitions taped and my son taped over ALL of them when he was 3. He liked to watch movies on the tape recorder and I think he thought it was a cartoon and when trying to find the play button he hit the record. I dont know how he even got to the tapes, I didnt realize this for many many months, BOOHOO. So this sport has a place in my heart.

Im feeling a little yucky today, I think its my sinus's. I feel really tired and my head is achey. I want to go back to bed and sleep some more, even though I slept really late today, lets just say it wasnt morning anymore and I had to make my self get up. I am glad its a 3 day weekend! I hope to catch a movie or go bowling, I have free tickets for both.

Here's more Unity luv. This card uses stamps from two different kit of the months. Pocket full of... & Following my heart

I cut out the clouds and the bike and popped them off the card with 3D dots. I again did my triple border thing! I glittered the bike seat and handle bars, remember the old bikes with the sparkly vinyl seats and rubber grips with the tassles? I also glittered the tire bumpers because I wanted it shiney like chrome. How about those buttons. Buttons are a favorite embellishment for me.

Monday fun!!

Some of you probably dont feel mondays are very fun, while some of you embrace it. Today I am embracing it, first day back at work, accomplished alot which left me feeling very productive. Leaving the house soon to run a few errands. Pork loin is marinating in the fridge because dinner is already planned. Pork loin with roasted pears and shallots, cheesey home made scallop potatoes and a veggie dish.

I am back from the errands, found 2 packages in my PO BOX WOOHOO!! A envelope full of swaps and my January Girls Loft kit!!

My tag card today features 2 stamps from one of my Unity kits!

Look at another treasure found at my Grandmas house. This is my uncle sports scrapbook. Everything is falling out of it because it was all taped down and the pages are yellowing, have no fear SUPER SCRAPPER is here LOL. This book is over 30 years old. I will incorporate the goodies in the album into my grandmothers toffee leather album. Is that cool or what?

This is where I worked as a senior in highschool. Yep Iam a expert soft serve swirler, candy topper pro, and whip cream master!! I of coarse brought this apron home, I was tickled pink with this one too!

Wishing you a relaxing evening

A little sunshine for U !

Hello People!!! I havent said that since high school!!

Look at Dawns color challenge, I likey this color combo. So refreshing, clean and crisp. I used some stamps from my Unity kit of the month called a A Pocket Full Of ...

I joined Unitys stamp kit of the month a couple of months ago and its so worth it, Unity is a rock star in stamps, the kits are reasonable and loaded. I have been neglecting them , so I dug them out and you will see lots of images from them in the next few days.

How do you like the triple scallop border? I luv it, this time I used the same color. I cut the sun out and popped it off the paper. I had the yellow scalloped square sitting in my scrap drawer, I was super excited to find it! I created my own polka dot paper by using a acrylic dot stamp from another ctmh set. I also like the look of that and will be doing that more often.

Okay this is such fun news to share with you. Last weekend my 2 aunts, dad, sister and sons went to my grandmothers house to deep clean it. My sweet grandma is in Heaven and passed away in 2000. Going to her house is always a treat because there are such treasures to find there.

This visit I found this vintage apron in her linen closet. I actually found 3 total but shared them with my aunts. Aprons are back in , I see them in many specialty shops going for $30 or more. My aunt says she remembers her mom wearing this apron. I was tickled pink with my find and wore it the rest of the day as I cleaned. i will share more treasures with you later.

Hope your day is SUPER!!

Be the Star ....

..that you are!!! Luv that!!

My vacation is winding down and Iam okay with that, three weeks is a long time, enough time. I am ready to get back in the groove of things, not so much of waking up at 5:30 BUT just something more routine. Does that sound crazy and weird? I mean how much time can you spend in the mall, or hanging out in your jammies, or the movies, I mean some of this requires spending money.

I have been on a black & white kick, like the girly look of it.

Check out this 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 CUTIE!! The OCC challenge was to create a simple & clean card . Nothings cleaner than white on white, how about that ribbon. I am a hounds tooth fan and found this in the dollar bin @ Michaels. This is my first time using it and I found that theres only 4ft of ribbon on the spool, that will never be enough. I must rush to Michaels and find more because there clearancing out the dollar bin AARRGGHH.

On this card I used my all time favorite ribbon, been using it for years. Iam also a gingham fan. I really like the layered border punch look.
