Iam sure you have all noticed the delay in post, Once again we are down a computer and I am once again sharing with my youngest son. The last computer crash I shared with my oldest son. I should have the mother of the year award and receive a VERY large gift. Its a drag not having access to my laptop when I want, I am so far behind on techy things like my blog and just keeping up with my favorite bloggers. Maybe Santa will brings some new computers to my house this Christmas! Keeping this short on my way out to dinner with the Mr. Did any of you hit the Black Friday sales, I didnt I was fast asleep all cozy and warm. Thats the same place I am every year :)If you did I hope you found some AWESOME deals!

Happy Veterans Day!! Sending BIG thanks to all our Veterans and families for their dedication and sacrifices. Since this is a holiday that means no work so I am going to the movies with my guys (all 3). So glad my sons still like to do this and can bear to be seen with the PARENTS! I am also going to do some stamping in preparation for my Monday class AND do some scrapbooking. I have 2 new scrapbook projects to get me moving other than the traditional way. 1. is the fabulous smash books by EK and 2. the FABULOUS Project Life!! Sketch It Out

Nothing new in my world, life is still amazing BUT busy. My son celebrated his 18th birthday last month, my baby is 18. If I close my eyes I can imagine a little boy sitting on my lap cuddling. I wont get mushy. We had dinner and 2 games of bowling my husband won both games and he wont be quiet about it. He keeps asking if we want his autograph, he also claims he going on the bowling circut. Were definately going for a rematch.

I celebrated my Great Aunts 80th birthday this past saturday. Is that awesome or what, lots of family, seeing old friends I havent seen in 20 years or more. Funny, funny stories told, facts about my aunts life that we never knew. Her kids were hearing things they never knew. dinner, cake and dancing, Fun was had by all!!

This is what I am teaching at Michaels this week. Are those papers yummy or what? The colors OH MY!!

10 YEARS, 10 YEARS, OH MY!!!

10 years this month , thats how long I have been a Close to my Heart consultant. I still enjoy what I do, its so rewarding. I have met the most awesome ladies that I now call my friends. I can not imagine not having CTMH in my life!!

I know that I have been slow to post but its hard to get back in the groove of posting on my regular 3-4 days a week thing. I am really going to make a effort. I hope my followers havent given up on me completely. I know how it is to check a blog regularly and nothing new is up, you give up and stop coming by. I hope that your still around and understand.

Todays card says it all....

This is the state of my room, its been this way for a couple of months. I cleaned it and it went right back to this, this is probably why I have not stamped or posted much. Theres stuff piled in almost every corner, this is not movtivating at all. I have taken on alot this fall and I have to organize my schedule and time to create and do what I ENJOY.

There are ALOT of new stamps on this desk waiting to be inked, some Unity,Ooberly cute Halloween dollar stamps, and 2 Inkadinkado stamps!

I dont know what its like in your neck of the woods but its been blazing HOT all week long here in Southern Calif 105 degrees HOT and I still dont like the thought of summer coming to a end.

Some updates on me: I finally got my computer woes fixed, my laptop had to go back in the shop for the second time. My sons computer kicked the bucket and he needs a new one and his Ipod broke, neither have been replaced yet.

I volunteered for Royal Family Kid Camp in June. I drove up after work for week to help in the activity center,so fulfilling!

I attended Close to my Hearts annual convention at the DISNEYLAND HOTEL(in July), absolutely the perfect venue. Pure entertainment Disney style, Disney goes all out when you hold your events there. Met friends from Canada that,I only talk to via email, met ladies I have swapped with for years, ran into old friends that I havent seen in years and personally met friends I have admired from afar!

I was hired to deocrate tables and chairs for a pool side bridal shower in July

I started teaching classes at Michaels, AGAIN. I did 5 years ago and thought I would give it a whirl again.

I will become a mentor next month to a 7 year old little girl, I cant wait! I will spend a day each week some weeks 2 with my mentee. I am ready to make a difference in this little ones life.

My kids have graduated from high school and I have taken on more! but I believe this is where God wants me to serve, by helping the kids.

Its been so long since I blogged on a regular basis that I have to get used to it and back on track posting 3-4 times a week! Boy have I have missed it!

Enough rambling todays card was inspired and almost completely cased from Ashely Newell she is fabulous and so worth following. She is one of my daily reads. Meet my card....

Big. issues

Going on in my techhie world, 2 computers down, one in for repairs for tHe second time in 2 weeks, and my phone deceided to half work. I am typing this from my new phone, great deal BUT now iam locked in another 2 year contract.

I hope to be fully operational really soon.

My son graduated from high school last friday, so darn exciting, it had to be the windest day in history. Every graduate had to hold there caps down tHe entire time, one girls hat flew off and across the field before she even hit the grass. I have no pictures of him with the family with the cap and gown on (windy) he promised to take some shots for me later! My 75-300 zoom lense was fabulous, I was like the paparazzi during the ceremony with my Camera!

I just wanted to stop in and let you know what the heck happened to me enCase anybody was curious.

I Am going to trY to take pics with my phone and post to my blog by using my phone Not sure how well that's going to work. OKAY doing tHis by phone right now is really hurting my eyes. See ya soon :)

Tomorrows the last day to enter the blog candy give away!

Did you watch the Royal wedding? I did, I stayed up til 1 AM but couldnt keep my eyes open past 1:30 so I went to sleep and woke up at 5 AM. I had it scheduled to tape but needed to see it live. Gorgeous, elegant and simple. She looked beautiful, the Abby with the trees perfect. William is such a handsome guy and I love that all his Mum taught him stuck. I found some great stuff about him, he wanted to be called william and not prince william and didnt want anyone bowing to him. Unlike his father who has never put toothpaste on his own toothbrush, I would be ashamed to ever let anyone know about that one if I were him. I mean come on ! Diana did a awesome job with her boys. I always admired her love for her boys(reminds me of my love for my boys) and she made sure that they were humble and caring. She would make them wait in line in the store, never allowing special treatment. She made sure they didnt think they were better than others. She would take them to McDonalds and other common places.I still cant believe she is actually gone, 14 years.

I could go on as I am a Diana fan, but I have given you sappy stuff this week and all before showing you my creations. Thanks again for listining.

Todays card reminds me of a sunshiney day! Like graduation day which is in 25 days!!! My son has 19 school days left. I cant believe it, I find myself remembering when he was just a little guy who loved to be held. When he was 2 if I had been standing up to long cleaning or cooking or what not he would say "sit mommy sit" and when I did he would climb on my lap and lay his head against my chest and cuddle. He had the sofest voice you would have to bend down and put your ear close to hear him. He was so darn cute! In my mind he is still my 2 year old baby, I am sure you moms can relate ;) I cant wait for him to realize with all certainty that I LOVE him so much, I dont think teenagers really get it. Okay enough of the sappy stuff, I know you didnt come here for that :) But thanks for listening!

I really dont like being away for so long and its never my intention to stay away so long. Life as we all know gets busy and we have to take care of the important things FAMILY. I am back and I hope I am worth the wait, I do truely appreciate all that stop by to visit!

My son the senior has ONLY 21 days left of school!!! Soon I will be busier than usual finding more tickets then the 6 I get to accomate more family, and graduation party plans because after all we must CELEBRATE!!

The end of the school year is drawing to a close for me as well and I anticipate all the fun to be had this summer. I fully plan on enjoying every bit of SUMMER!

I stitched around the card base in brown thread. I used my cuttlebug to add more texture. I added a double layer of scallops! I used my spellbinders oval scallop circle and stamped the card using some of my Studio G dollar stamps from Michels. The Designer paper is called SWEET SHOP! Are those colors yummy or what?

Humbled Artist time

Blog candy at the bottom!!!

I finally get to share this card with you! It was created for my Humbled Artist Group, its a bimonthly swap exchange. We are to create fabulous, over the top cards, multiple layers, many embellishments etc. Wowie cards is what we should have in the end.

Febuarys card, had to be a love card, use a animal,7 layers in one spot, 3 embellishments, neutral colors with one other color from a color family and we needed to use liquid glass and use No reds or pinks. This swap always pushes me to think out of the box. I am always trying to out do the last card.

I popped the wings off each bird and popped the tails with pop dots. I added liquid glass to them also. Has you can see lots of layering and a bit of stitching.

Crazy 4 challenges Sponser this week is Sparkle Creations, she has 2 of her adorable stamps to give away! I used a Sparkle Creation stamp which I won back in December! I was so happy, I was jumping around about it and telling my husband that I won and he was looking at me like I was a crazy person. Men just dont get it!

Isnt he the cutest? Sparkles stamps are perfect for coloring, I really like to color. I always had tons of coloring books when I was a little girl and who could resist a new box of crayons? Once when I was about 19 we took a family vacation and I made sure I picked up a few coloring books and new crayons for the trip. Every body colored on the trip from the 8 year all the way up to the 36 year old. Coloring is so relaxing.

Well its back to the grind for me today, well for everybody unless your vacation starts today or its your regular day off or you took the day off or your playing HOOKEY! Lazy spring break

Hello Friends! Sorry for the lapse in post, I have been on spring break this week and havent done much, just enjoyed sleeping in every day and staying in. It has felt wonderful. The weather here in So Calif has been cloudy and rainy, its nice to have the option to stay in out of the elements!

A Zutter bind it all! Its a starter kit, I can make 8 books of different sizes with its contents. I always imagined it was much bigger but its true as the picture on the box it fits in the palm of my hand! Great find, Great price, $50!

The Pioneer women, is incredible, the women is a phenomenon. She is funny as all get out and can whip up some mean dishes that will have you cooking them over and over and coming back for more.Her entire website is full of FUN things, she has awesome giveaways. 20 years ago today

I married the love of my life! Right now at 7 PM I was standing at the alter, (probably crying because my best friends were crying) getting married to the man I knew I would marry from the age of 14. Yep when I was just 14 I told my best friend I would marry him and I did! Hard to believe that is has been that long, I feel way to young to say that I have been married for 20 years.

Beautiful red roses arrived at my door today!!

Heres todays creation...

This gorgeousness was made at CHA at the cricket booth, I forgot my piece of chocolate tulle that should have been tied around the bottom panel. Every image is popped off the frame!!

Heres my Close to my Heart inventory binder. Way back in the day I thought of stamping my woodie images on paper so I would know what I had because they were all boxed up and stored in drawers and I couldnt see them. But that thought never came to fruition. Then recently on more than one occasion I heard of ladies copying there CTMH sets and placing them in a binder, sounded a little familiar, and perfect. I may still do this with my boxed wood sets.

I took my inventory binder which started out a different way and striped it bare. I copied 164 of my ctmh stamp sets, I still need to copy my 26 alphabet solos and my 10solo numbers. I added some dividers and made categories by theme to place the pictures in, a section for celebration, alphabets, winter, seasonal, everyday, flowers, butterflies/bugs, sentiments, and background/borders. Now I wont have to flip through each locker bin looking at my selection I can now flip the pages of my binder!

I am tickled pink with this.

just another manic monday

how I wish it was Sunday!! Cause thats my fun day!! But then if it was Sunday we would only be 5 days away from Friday instead of 4. With that being said Hello Monday!

I picked up this cute set called Latte Love for only $5.99, so many fun, cutesy images in it. Does something look familiar about it, YEP its the polka dots!!! I told you it was a favorite look! Now onto the organizing stuff.

All the boxed sets are marked with a colored sticker. Each colored sticker represents a category, such as Seasonal, celebration, Outdoors, alphabets,whimsical and Backgrounds. The individual woodies are in sections just like the sticker formation. The top shelve of woodies are all sentiments and they are categorized just like the sticker formation.

This aged looking shelve made out of a door used to hold my Boyds Bear collection, well two of the shelves still do. My hubby suggested that I utilize the unit to help store my wood stamp collection. Its weird it has held bears for over 10 years. I do like it though, now I can see my HUGE collection! This black and white is the only picture of the unit on my computer and it only shows one full shelve and a teeny bit of two of the other shelves.

Okay off to bed it feels like I have been up since last Thursday. What time would it be if time hadnt sprung forward? Night night friends!

I can not express how happy I am that its FRIDAY. Remember I said my job assignement may change, well it ended today!!! It was wearing me out! I feel like I am back to normal well Monday I will be back to normal!! I am so stinkin happy :)

I have been working on more organizing, I realized I really like organizing things. I have put away all my woodies that were on the floor and I have FINALLY finished my CTMH stamp inventory binder! I will share that this weekend, since I didnt post on mon or wed.

Stampers meet my card, I am trying to sound like Patty Stanger from the Millionare match maker, thats how she introduces her millionare clients.

I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!! I plan on crafting I have several projects I need to get busy on.

What a beautiful day! I spent the morning volunteering with my kid camp at church, we were able to spend some time outside playing some fun games. I participated in the puppet show and the play. It was a good club day!

I spent the afternoon watching The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, one of my favorites. One of the best westerns ever!! I am a big Clint Eastwood western fan.

Tomorrow church with my family and lunch afterwards!

We have survived most of the week, its hump day. 2 more days until the end of the week and 2 more weeks until spring break. I cant believe this year is almost over, well the school year. My son has 10 weeks until senior graduation!! Yeah !!!

Every workshop I have a favorite card, this workshop I had 3, yep 3 favorites. Todays card is one of them. Its simple, masculine and elegant all at the same time!

Hope your Monday is going GREAT, today is my husbands birthday and I have taken the day off to spend with him. He wants to see Hall Pass, and I dont but since its his birthday I will sit through it. Also this means dinner out and I am off for the night WOOHOO!!

Meet my card...

Is that not the best color combo? I am so in like with this set!! This card was created at my Stampa-a-Palooza workshop. I used one of my favorite tags to create, I beleive I learned that from Nichole Heady. I add some dimension to the flowers by cutting them out and popping them off the paper, I really like adding dimension to my cards and layouts. Just some simple layering and layering of the scallops which I also like to do!

Well it is isnt it? This is a new set from CTMH called Baby Love, and I am in like with it!! I cant wait to create more with it:) This is one of the cards created at my Stampa-a-Palooza this past saturday. We had a really good time, I had my first male guest. He attended with is LOVE, he would have put any seasoned stamper to shame. He did so well on time, speed and problem solving A+. He didnt need any guidance from me , his cards were impecable. Yep it was his first time stamping!

Workshop= lots of cards to share including what I didnt share last week. Please come back, I know I have been slacking BUT work has been kicking my butt. I am planning a GIVE AWAY also.

This style may look familar I have created it before and I really liked it. The polka dots may look familar also, I have created this method a few times as well. You can proably tell its a favorite technique! I thinks its a classic style that you cant go wrong on.

Oh My its been so long. let me say that I am exhausted every day, and there seems to not be enough time in the day. I have a assignment at work that drains everything out of me, I am considering stepping down from part of that assignment. I am waiting to see how things go this week, there may be light at the end of the tunnel. I did manage to crank out some special cupcakes for the 3 men in my life. Hubby in turn picked up some Thai take out, so my valentine gift was a night off from kitchen duty!

I do have some art to photograph and upload, I actually forgotten about those cards and other goodies. Silly me.

Meet my card..

This card was from my Humbled Artist group. We were asked to take a theme stamp set and create something opposite of the theme. This was a bit challenging and made me get out of the box!
Have 7 layers of cardstock in one place
use glitz or glitter
use 2 different embellishments

I chose to use the Tannebaum set its a christmas theme and I took the whimsical tree and turned it upside down and made a banner out of it. I threaded hemp through the banner and added brads. I added glitz as dots on the banner for dimension and added some bling. I used the birhtday script from my pennants set.

I found out my friend Samara was going to CHA and I teased with her about taking me and to stop torturing me with her updates on facebook. I went about my saturday BUT that night about 7 pm, Samara sent me a message to call her ASAP. Actually she sent me and another friend a message to call her. So I call her and her voice mail picks up and I leave her a message. She calls back and says....

Samara "Jamia what are you doing tomorrow"

Me "Nothing"

Samara " Do you want to go to CHA"

Me " Heck yeah"

So she picked me up at 8 AM sunday morn!!

I felt like a kid waiting on Christmas morning, couldnt sleep all night. When I walked in the convention center I was floating. Even though I couldnt buy a thing It didnt matter, just being around all that paper, ribbons, stamps and accessories was just as good !! The art work was incredible, some of the booths were too darn cute. I didnt take my camera because Samara said they were kinda strict about it, but I saw several point and shoots. I managed to snap a few with my phone, I will try uploading them ( never uploaded from my phone before).

We received this little guy, he's 5 this year! There running a contest, you take a picture of your little cricket in fun, creative places and enter to win BIG.

We also recieved this premeir issue!

Here's some of my loot, I didnt get nearly as much as Samara did on Saturday. Samara writes reviews for a stamping magazine and so thats were her HUGE load of free goodies came in.

I have a ton of catalogs!

Some of them were packaged so nicely.

I picked up many new tote bags. It became addictive and I had to have one if they were offering them, kinda like the catalogs.

There were lots of make n takes, I didnt do nearly as many has I wanted. I saw Emily from Stamping Bella, Elizabeth Kartchner writer of 52 scrapbook challenges and designer of the Dear Lizzy line of scrapbooking goodies, and the owner of Spellbinders. Didnt see Angie of Unity or Tim Holtz. Now if I can just get to Chicago this summer for the summer CHA show which includes the super show (open to the public, RETAIL SHOPPING!)

Heart 2 Hearts first challenge for the new year is a color challenge. Gorgeous color choice dont you think? Used a new set I never inked up, such a fun set, its a fav!

Guess what tomorrow I will be attending CHA, yep you read that right. Its not open to the public but I got a invite last night!!! My friend that invited me came home with a ton of FREE loot, she said they were just handing it out!! She says its incredible, all the buzz. Cant wait!!! I will have to tell you all about it including the invite call tomorrow!!!

Heart 2 Heart challenges blog wants to see your space and how you organize your goods. I think I have collected some good ideas along this journey and have a few ideas of my own to share! So I am jumping in maybe I will win a prize!!

Heres the main wall of my studio its to the left when you walk in the room. I cant rave enough about the stor n Style cubes! The wall ledges hold recycled candle jars full of ribbons and buttons. Mason jars hold small chip board, tags, paper and silk flowers and spiral clips.

Heres my 12 x 12 paper storage. I purchased these off of ebay from Poor Rays. Ray has since retired. But Stamper Storage is selling some very similar.

Heres the top shelves of my closet. Each photo box holds cards for different occasions. My ribbon holders made out of rain gutters!

These locker bins hold my Close to my Heart stamp sets!

Heres where I store my scraps, each drawer holds a color, blues, pinks etc. I also store, scissors, tapes, acrylic blocks, envelopes diecuts, B/T scraps. I have a things to scrap drawer for momentos, ticket stubs, programs etc. I have a drawer for embellishments, a sewing drawer for floss, thread needles etc. You get the gist I am sure.

On top of these two units sit these goodies!

I have been busy with cards that are due ASAP, I cant share them just yet. I have this ditty to share. I have been following Patters ABC scripture challenges for about 2 years and this year deceided to join in, i am not sure if I will create the pages but I will start with writing what I study in my journal.

I used one of Girl Loft kits to create the book cover including the alphabets!

I received a super cute card from my friend Jen Rubio at Jens Jewel Box She created some faux stitching around her card and I fell hard for the technique and have used it on a few cards and such!! I need to write her and tell how much I liked the look.

As you know from previous postings I have done some organizing and remodeling, I believe it has caused my MOJO to come back. I guess its true what they say, that when things are disorganized and messy it blocks the creative flow (although when I turn around I have a mound of woodie to organize and store) I didnt want to leave the room!! Nice to be back in the game!!

This was my closet, a mess right? Well I guess it wasnt that bad, it needed to be organized. Things were stacked way high with thing after thing. I was running out of room to store things.

The first shelve held all my CTMH woodies, the second shelve held my SU woodies. The third shelve held photo boxes 6 to be exact, the bottom shelve held some albums and a few more photo boxes. I had altered projects, containers sitting around on the stamps. The back corner of the closet held more photo boxes, some baskets etc.

Here's my rolling carts full of my individual wood stamps. The cart on the left has 7drawers of stamps and the cart on the right had 5 drawers of stamps. The 2 bottom drawers on each cart held punches, alterables, and misc items. On the top of the carts you can see my color binders, stamp inventory binder, E size acrylix sets binder and a binder for unmounted sets from various companies and Containers. On the floor in front of these carts was bags of cards, scraps, and magazine holders. See Lots of stuff every where.

So I went to Target ( one of my fav places to hang out, literally snack on pop corn while you shop or browse hanging out) and purchased these super cool itso stackable cubes. They were on sale for $7.99, never seen them that low before. There plastic and can be locked to together 3 cubes high. They can be cleaned using a damp cloth and they can hold cubes or baskets. You can purchase a load of things to organize them with, drawers, doors, shelves, bins etc. AWESOME!

I made my way over to Home Depot to purchase some wood to make 2 shelves to hold my ind. wood stamps. I have always wanted a stamp wall!!! Take a look.....

Heres the far end of the closet, I intend to take the closet doors off so I can look at all this FABULOUSNESS while I work!

I have to say that 2 shelves for my stamps is not even close to being enough, and I really want a much bigger or longer stamp wall. But I am so happy with it!! I also added a tension curtain rod to hold my punches!! $6.99!! How about those itso cubes, looking good arent they? There are 2 more cubes to the left of the pink and orange tubs, one has a door.

Okay heres what I am left with to organize, so stayed tuned!

What a beautiful day it is!! I hope your weather is as gorgeous and your able to get out and run errands, attend a birthday party, work in the yard and enjoy this FABULOUS day. With all the rain, snow and cold its a welcome change :) Maybe your enjoying the day with your windows and blinds open and your just lazing around!!

I am finally going to wash my filthy car, its getting embarressing. I am then running to Target to get some itso cubes to redo my closet YEAH and to Michaels to buy another Spellbinders die with my last 50% off coupon!

I should be grocery shopping BUT that can wait until tomorrow!!

Hello blogging friends!!

I have finally downloaded some of my creations. Not much going on with me I went back to work on Monday, wasnt quite ready. I fully enjoyed and relaxed on my winter break. Shamefully I didnt create much, I had other things on my plate. One being alot of reading and studying.

I created this little book to write (some of) my daily scriptures in. I have many that I read daily and wanted a go to book where they would be ready and waiting. I used my NEW spellbinder die to make the label. I just adore it!!!

I hope your day was GRAND, I just kicked back today. Acutally when I think back I did alot of cooking. I slept in until 11 AM(I really like to sleep in)and then made a late breakfast and then about 4 PM I started my annual New Years Day dinner. Black eye peas that are so good it should be a crime to taste that good!!! along with chicken, rice, green beans and pumpkin pie crunch. I am pooped and stuffed!!

I wish I could sing this because the rain has cleared up, BUT no its been raining since Friday and will rain through Wednesday. I am singing this song because my card is CLEAR and we all can see clearly through it!

For weeks I had my supplies layed out on my desk, but I was on total creative block. I would like to say that when working with clear cards 2 sided tape works best, because if you have to reposition your paper the 2 sided tape is easier to play around with, it wont desimate your papers. Before I share my rantings I would like to thank 2 dear friends of mine, that have stuck it out with me in my Close to my Heart career. Patty and Carol, these two share the same love as I do ALL things Close to my Heart!!!You ladies are my best customers!! They never miss a workshop and are always ready for the next one. We get together and pick right up where we left off, I really enjoyed spending the day with both of you, your friendships mean so much to me!

Here are a few words from my heart. I hope that folks are remembering the reason for the season, not the shopping, gift giving, baking, parties and decorations. Remember the true reason the birth of Jesus!! Boy what a gift!! Where did all the major gift giving come into play? HHMM. Enjoy the warmth, love and togetherness of family and friends this holiday season!!

I am on my last week of school and only have 2 half days of work left!! I cant wait to relax, relax and relax!! AND start my Christmas shopping SIGH!

Happy Monday!! Today I present my last Heart 2 Heart creation. Yes my design team term is up, it has been tons of fun!! I hope that I have inspired you along the way. The challenge this week is to create a holiday card. Now I know that your all creating holiday cards why not share your card with us! Meet my card....

I used my favorite Evergreen stamp set! I used 1 tree that I inked with a Martha Stewart glue pad, I stamped it 3 times on a piece of white daisy cs and sprinkled it with prisma glitter, on a seperate piece of white daisy I stamped 2 more trees and cut them out, I popped them off the white daisy piece in between the other 3 trees. I stamped Winter Wonderland in Ponderosa ink on a strip of white daisy and created a banner. I lined the top and bottom of the banner with prisma glitter. I added a strip of white daisy cut with a apron scallop border.I finished off the card with a Green grograin ribbon.

Good morning!! I actually have a post today, I have many things to post but just not alot of time lately. I plan to get back to my Monday-Wednesday-Friday-sometimes Saturday posting starting this monday. Once the computer when hawire I havent been able to get back on track. But I am ready now!!

Its Monday and that means its Heart 2 Heart challenge day. The challenge this week is to create a gift item. I know its the season for giving Christmas gifts, to co workers, neighbors, the post man, your hair stylist etc. But my gifty item is for those December babies, ME being one of them. My birthday is December 24!! I have a few rules about giving to December babies. RULE #1 we dont want to receive our gifts wrapped in Christmas paper!

So here is my gifty item for those December birthdays!!

I started out with a kraft card base. I used my Martha Stewart scoring board to create the block pattern on the Autumn Terracotta cs, I also used my scoring board to score a border around my Sunflower cs. I stamped the flower pot and flowers in Sunflower ink on the Sunflower cs. I stamped three pots and three bunches of flowers on Colonial White cs, I stamped the flower pots on a seperate peice of cs and cut them out, I then popped them ontop of the first set of flower pots. I added some prisma glitter to the centers of the flowers. I layered the flower pot piece ontop of a piece of Buttercup Yellow cs. I wrapped jute around the three colored cs pieces. Topping it with a paper flower and paper leaf. The center of the paper flower is a brad with prisma glitter on it.

Todays challenge from Heart 2 Heart calls for a thank you card, perfect timing. Let me say Thanks a whole bunch for following my blog, I am tickled that you stop by from time to time. I am tickled even more when you leave a comment!

Gosh I really like these colors and the designer paper pack is a fav as well!! I created this 5 X 7 card by rounding out the bottom corners. I layered the B/T to three solid cs strips, two of the strips I textured with my cuttlebug folders! I sewed the 2 textured pieces with a zig zag stitch! I stamped the Thanks onto a colonial white tag, I stamped the Many onto a smaller Colonial white tag and the For Everything onto a simple strip of colonial white cs. I inked the edges of everything, it just softens the card and the edges dont look so rough and unfinished. I topped off my large tag with a satin chocolate ribbon.

Its challenge day over at Heart 2 Heart challenges. The challenge was to create something frilly, lacey and girly!! Who dosent like that kinda challenge. Break out the soft tones, the lace, the foo foo embellishments! Come on you know you want to join, and your half way in your stash!! Now when your done with your GIRLY creation, upload your picture to the H2H blog, by Sunday at 10 PM. You could be chosen as a Friday Five!!

I used a all time favorite stamp set, you can always bling it out and I did. I added prisma glitter to every petal and leaf. I outlined the stems with cyrstal gems. I stitched around the stamped cardstock. I layered it onto baby pink cs and cut it with my pinking shears. Hey the pinking shears always get neglected but they can add a whole lot to your cards or layouts. I added some flowers topped with baby pink buttons and a ivory ribbon. I added a piece of ivory crochet lace to the side of a piece of sweet leaf cs. I layered the whole chabang onto a kraft card base. Now I hope this card SCREAMS GIRLY!! I just love it!!

I created a PARTY HAT,using exclusive CTMH designer papers!! I punched my 3 strips of cardstock with 3 different border punches! The big scallop punch is a NEW punch from EK Success, its one of their new large border punches. I added several pieces of ribbon and a heavenly blue button to the top of the hat. At the bottom I added to paper flowers and a baby pink button. Finishing it off with a sentiment!! I will have to find a birthday girl to send this too!!

Meet my card...

clean and simple was the name of my game on this card. Colonial white card base, topped with a embossed colonial white piece. I rubbed colonial white ink over the embossed piece. I created my pumpkin by punching several circles and gluing them together. I then fanned them out. I curled a teeny strip of juniper cs and added it to the pumpkin, I hand cut a stump I crunched the stump/ leaf. I stamped a leaf and popped it off the card near the stump. Added a chocolate and ivory ribbon to the side. A simple sentiment finished it off. I hope you enjoyed the post and found it pleasing to your eye!! Have a awesome Monday!

My computer is still in for repair, Hopefully really really soon. Not any time to get on a computer this week, so I am sharing Mondays post today!

Heart 2 Hearts challenge this past week was to emboss on your car, that could be heat or dry embossing. I have to share that I actually hate to heat emboss. Yep I said it, I am a lazy stamper. I hate stamping, then pouring the powder on the card, then dusting the powder off, then pulling out the heat gun. Just too much work! The finished product is BEAUTIFUL no doubt about it. But like I said its a lot of work:)

Meet my card...

Isn't that bracket GORGEOUS? Its even more gorgeous in person! I first created my flower by punching several circle with my circle punch. I wet them and crunched them up and dry them with my heat gun, cause I didn't have patience to wait. I rounded the corner of the grey wool cs and white daisy cs and Buttercup yellow with my corner rounder. I then layered the grey wool and white daisy onto my buttercup yellow card base. I embossed the bracket and the sentiment in black. I used a glue dot to adhere the flower onto the card. I added 2 pieces of striped grey ribbon as the petals.

Today is my youngest sons 17th birthday. Where does the time go, don't all mothers say this no matter what age there child is turning. Its so cool seeing him become a young man, he was such a little boy for so long. Today where both off due to furlough days in So Cal. The weather is gorgeous outside the breeze flowing through the windows is heavenly!

I am dropping off my 2 computers at a friends for cleaning. Yeah!! My friend heads a computer dept at work and told me he will take them in and get rid of the bugs. I didn't want to bother him, BUT after a few quotes of $85 to $125 per computer to clean out the virus, I broke down and gave him a call.

This weeks challenge is to create something using trees or leaves. I didnt even think to create a fall theme card. I think I am trying to hang on to summer:)

Friends meet my card....

I randomly stamped my vines, stamped and cut out my leaves. I popped them off the card and added glitter to them and a few places on the vines. I faux stitched around the top of the card. I added 3 layers of ruffles topping it off with a chocolate satin ribbon. Final touch was a tag tied onto the ribbon using hemp.

Heres what u missed last week

This is last weeks card for the Heart 2 Heart challenge. Computer issues still pending.

Today my youngest son took his senior pictures. Reality still has not sunk in completely that my baby is a senior, I am sure tomorrow when I go back to view the pictures it will sink in a little and I will ball like a baby. Boy is he handsome and boy are those pictures going to be FABULOUS!!

The big polka dots were created using a circle punch! I have used that technique in the past and I LOVE IT! As you can see I sewed all around the outside of the card and did a single zigzag line down the middle. Once again I stamped very little, stamping only the script with one of my many alphabet stamps ( alphabet sets are another favorite for me to collect) I added a bow and 3 bitty buttons!

Its a birthday challenge!!!

Over at Heart 2 Heart challenges. How FUN is that, my favorite stamps to collect are birthday themed and I love creating birthday cards, This challenge was right up my alley :)

Now you must visit the blog for more inspiration, You must create something birthday related, take a picture of it and post a link to H2H blog Sunday by 10 PM , were eager to see what you have created! THERES A PRIZE this week!!

I am somewhat reconnected to the world, my 2 computers are still down. I am waiting to hear from the computer lady today. YEP thats how bad it is, I need to call in the calvary.

Meet my card....

I did very little stamping on this card GAASSPP!! I used the 3 tier card pattern from the FABULOUS Wishes pattern book (its a must for your collection). I cut strips of Blush cs and inked the edges. I layered them on a Baby Pink card base. I took a piece of textured Hollyhock cs and cut a circle out. I back the circle with a black scallop border. I cut my 3 tiered cake out of designer paper. I added a a double paper flower with a rhinestone to the top of the cake and made a wire cake stand to finish it off. I placed my birthday script on top of a piece of black ribbon. There you have it folks, todays card !!!

Okay now my youngest sons computer came down with a virus on monday, thats the computer that I was going to borrow and my oldest son deleted his windows picture program off his computer last year so I have no access to upload my pictures. I am hoping to have this resolved this weekend.

I am so bummed, my lap top is sick. It has a nasty virus BOOHOO. I want to know who sits around and creates viruses? Who has nothing better to do with there time and there vast computer knowledge? I am sorry for lagging on my posting lately, I promise to get myself busy and post like I should. Bare with me:) My oldest son started college, my youngest son started his senior year and things have been a little busy for me.

Meet my card.....

I created my polka dot background with a single dot stamp, stamped in Goldrush ink. I layered that on a Goldrush card base. I cute a square of Goldrush and Kraft cs. I cut out my cupcake liner in a retired designer paper and popped it off the circle. I cut my frosting out of a piece of felt and added some bling for my sprinkles. I cut a strip of matching retired designer paper and cut a scallop edge on it. I added a piece of polka dot ribbon with a bow and button. Last I popped the scallop circle off the card. There you have!!

I used the super sweet stamp set Thoughts of You, its a shame that I have only used this set for the second time. Its the cutest, I guess thats what happens when you have a large collection of sets. Note to self use this set more often! I stamped the flowers in olive ink and added some glue with my glue writer and sprinkled prisma glitter on them! I scored the card base using my Martha S. scoring board. I rubbed olive ink all the around the edges of the card. I added a strip of scallop white daisy cs. I stamped my sentiment on squares of white daisy cs cut with my classic squares nestabilities. I layered each square with Hollyhock cs and creme brulee cs. I added a strip of creme brulee ribbon behind the squares and finished off each square with a button or two! Voila!!

And its a color challenge!! I really like color challenges, I think there my favorite!! Theres some new exciting news over at H2H today and you may be the lucky recipient, so stop on over there and find out all the deets!!

Now the challenge calls for these CTMH colors, if you dont have CTMH cardstock use some that are pretty close. Once your finished, take a picture of your fabulouness, stop by the H2H blog and post the link with Mr Linky by 10 PM Sunday! Tell a friend, family member, co worker, mail man (just kidding) unless your mail man/lady stamps about this challenge! We would be tickled pink to have you join the PARTY!!

I stamped my tree in each of the three colors. Next I cut three panels in each of three colors and pierced them with my piercing tool. I attaced the panels to the base. Next I cut a scallop border on the bottom of my Colonial White cs and cut a strip of Honey cs and punched the bottom with my Martha punch. I popped the tree panel off the card, one of my favorite things to do!

Visitors meet my card....

I am liking those butterflys!! I stamped them twice and glued them together and then bent the wings. I used B/T papers on two of the folds. I stamped a polka dot on the front and added a scallop trim on the first two folds. I inked the edges of each fold. I didnt think the card needed any embellishments as it stood out on its own. I reach for this stamp set a awful lot, but its so perfect for so many things. I cant say enough about the script that comes along with it!

The ultimate collection

My youngest son is a Marvel comic collector, comic books and action figures. I have been shopping for these guys for years, every birthday, Christmas and some just because days. I am the kinda mother that will hit every available store to find them, from 2 wal marts, to Kmart, to two Targets. Sometimes its a piece of cake and other times not. These guys are popular. The comics are a little easier, we have a great comic book store in town.He has some awesome custom framed posters in his room too. Anywhoo I told Kam if he set them all up on the table I would take some shots of them. Then long after I took these pics (probably 2 yrs ago) I ran across this clear set at Michaels, it was perfect!! Click the photos to get a close look.

Just to let you know its smoking hot here in my town, 107 degrees.

Meet my card.....

This stamp set is one of my favorites! I combined it with designer papers from the way cute Zippidee paper pack, a perfect match!! I cut each star out and popped it off the card. The red star has prisma glitter on it, the blue star has some bling on it. I sewed on the cranberry cs and the colonial white cs. I did a little stitching on the sentiment and upper right corner. There you have it folks!

This challenge was a challenge. Our project had to be a school theme. I only have ONE school related stamp set and its retired, I actually have never used it. So I had to think outside the box, I knew I didnt want to use primary colors. Primary colors are popular for school themes. I deceided to gear my card for the teacher. That made it easy to pick colors. I knew the notebook paper pack would be just right and girly too! It after all has a stationary theme! What a week

The first week of school is over, I think we have 175 days to go. I know why am I thinking of the end of the school year. The week has been long and my body is worn out from rising at 5:00 AM. I cant wait to sleep in tomorrow and wake up when the sun is up!

Check out my layout, isn't it SWEET? I am so loving how it turned out, I stitched all over this baby! This my son who every once in a while doesn't want to be bothered with his camera toteing, picture taking mama! I messed up my watermark and don't know how to fix it and didn't want to wait until tomorrow to take another picture so here it is.

I found the inexspensive argyle paper at Joannes who knows how long ago, it screamed masculine to me. I rounded the corners and doubled stitched around it in grey thread.I paired it with some Grey wool cs, I don't use enough grey. Its another nuetral to me, goes with almost everything.I stitched on it also with grey thread. I added a piece of crystal blue cs and stitched on it also. I even stitched on the picture. I added a hidden tag that can you guess I stitched on and added a piece of cool grey & white stripe ribbon to it. Last I took some chipboard letters and stamped a argyle background on it, I also stamped some paper tabs in argyle background and added them to the layout.

There you have it folks, so glad I started scrappin again:)

I used the cute Treetops stamp set. I started out with my chocolate card base, layering a piece of sweetleaf cs, I then added some punched circles and layered a strip of chocolate cs on top. I stitched around the entire card. I stamped and cut out my images twice from the stamp set, using the second cut out image to pop them off the first image. I glued them to scallop circles I cut out with my Spellbinders dies. I added a thank you sentiment to finish off the card.

Something Splendid

Hello there!!!

Its back to school weekend here, that means school shopping. It was really painless and quick YEAH! I only shopped with one son, the other son learned that you don't get new clothes to start college. Let me tell you he has plenty, but little brother has outgrown most of what he has, shoes, and most of his pants. Kam has hit a serious growth spurt his shoe size is now a 11 and he is taller than me and his big brother (which he loves to point out, often). Tomorrow marks the first day of school for my youngest who will officially be a SENIOR!! That's right I am on the last one here people and I cant tell you how excited I am. I would say that's something splendid! This also means back to work for me, that brings a new adventure in itself as I am assigned a new student to work with exclusively.

Check out the simple beauty of a card I have today.

I used the August stamp of the month, which I stamped on a stitched piece of colonial white cardstock, layered on a piece of Tulip cardstock, layered on a pice of Sweet Leaf cardstock and finally layered on a Chocolate card base. I stamped the sentiment below the flower,adding two pieces of red ribbon, I didnt think it needed much more than that.

My exciting news

I am at a point in my life where I don't like to have my picture taken,I know several women who don't like their picture taken anymore. I didnt think it would ever be me. I had to set up my tripod and take that picture myself. My dog was quite puzzled but he stuck around I am sure to laugh at me in silence while I took too many pictures trying to adjust the lighting and find the right place to sit.

Heres a layout I did using a pattern from the IMAGINE pattern book. If you dont have it ya Gotta get it, your gonna LOVE IT!! I sewed on my layout using my handy dandy Pixie sewing machine. Pixies can now be found at Big Lots for $30. You can click the picture to get a closer look.

Heres my art creation, this card was created for my spot in the standing stamp of the month swap.

I used the card template for the scallop money holder from the ORIGINALS card pattern book. The super cute paper is called Cherry-O. I popped the flower and its center off the card. Wrinkled my leafs and added a bigger brad to my script. I inked the edges of each color paper, I like that it softens the look of the card. I also sewed on the cherry B/T with my Pixie sewing machine.

Its funny how excited I get to see my followers increasing, my number counter climb and your comments. Thanks for leaving the comments you know we blog owners thrive on comments!! I thought I would try the swirly paper roses that are all the rage!These are super quick and easy. I found a tutorial on you tube, let me say that place is like quick sand, your quickly sucked in. You watch one and it leads to another and another and another, I try not to go there to often.

I am off to eat dinner, its monday and THE CLOSER is on at 9PM YEAH!!

Kept this card clean and simple, one of my favorite styles! I used a piece of swiss dots embossed cardstock (found that in my scrap drawer) layered it on top of a strip of Apron lace border punched cardstock. Added a piece of satin green ribbon. I added some glue to the edges of the rose buds and sprinkled prisma glitter on them. I hand cut two leaves and adhered both roses and leaves to the card. Last was the thank you stamp at the bottom of the card.

Happy Friday!! I have the most exciting news to share but just cant right now, I feel like I am going to pop from giddiness!! Soon my friends soon.

Not much going on with me, I plan on more cleaning and purging of the ole craft studio. Maybe some of you can relate to this, you know how you clean one area BUT another area takes on stuff from the now clean area. I am just moving clutter around AARRGGHH. That's where I am right now, little corners of the room are over whelmed with loads of books, or bags of swaps that need to be sorted and put away, scrapbook kits that have no home, boxes of photos that need to be put away. You know they say clutter blocks the creative process and boy is it true, I have created only 2 cards all week.

Heres the yum, yum I was talking about. Does this make you want a ice cream cone?

This is a retired stamp set from CTMH and its one of my favorites that I will NEVER part with. The 4 high cone was inspired by a fellow consultant, she glittered one scoop I HAD to glitter all 4. She put her cone on a scrapbook layout, I put mine on a card. The glitter is called Disco glitter and its a fav that I have used for many years, luv the chunkiness of it. So loving the colors, nothing more classy than pink, black and white. I did my hand punched circles again and just LOVE that techinque.

Just taking it easy today

Hope your all keeping cool in your neck of the woods! Its hot BUT not as hot as it was Thursday, it was scorching hot that day. I am hanging out in my craft studio working on some swap cards,also doing a little purging in here too, my son has taken a slab of ribs out of the freezer, so sometime today I better go clean the grill. I guess this post is a little art a little orginization. I store my CTMH stamp sets in colored locker bins. I found these bins at Joanns a few years ago in their dorm section. They were the perfect colors. The number one color being ORANGE, the hot pink just complimented it. Thats how I came up with the color theme for my craft studio. I had plain luggage tags hanging on each bin to identify what was inside, I intended to fancy them up BUT never did. So yesterday I spent some time doing just that. I used paper flowers, felt flowers, buttons, ribbon, brads and CTMH Atomic caps alphabet set.

A Oldie but Goodie

This is a old retired wood stamp set called Baby Boutique, I still have tons of woodies and occasionally will buy one if its cute enough. I know many ladies that got rid of all there woodies by selling them when CTMH went acrylic. Before the final transition every current wooden set was offered in acrylic so many made sure that bought there favs in acrylic. Some ladies unmount there wooden stamps and place them on foam cushion. I have considered doing this BUT I like the look of them and I actually plan on creating a stamp wall just for the woodies I have. What I showed yesterday was phase 2 of my closet redo, phase 3 is to buy new store n style cubes and phase 4 will be the stamp wall.

I found that cute brad at Big Lots, they had tons of Making Memories brads by the pack, American Crafts ribbon, Martha Stewart and other goodies for only $1. I knew I wanted to create a baby card when I saw the pack of pastel pink and yellow brads.

A little something for Sunday

Hi all!! Hope you had a good weekend. I traveled 48 miles to picnic with family to celebrate our graduates. We had 4 seniors on my side of the family and 1 on my husbands. My side of the family got together and had a blast, we started out at a picturesque hilly park were we grilled steak and chicken tacos, rice, beans and munchies. We ended up at my cousins house near by to grill more meat, play games and swim. I love my family!!

Heres a little art featuring this months stamp of the month Happy Forever.

Check out what I did, I have had this on my to do list for a while. Is this not the most clever idea ever. This my friends is 1 piece of rain gutter cut into (2) 4 1/2 inch pieces and hung on the wall with rain gutter brackets. All for under $15. I happily admit that I only have a few empty inches in each row for more ribbon and actually have on hand the ribbon to fill those empty inches. TEEHEE!! I color cordinate my ribbon.

Hello there, hope your 4th of July was well celebrated. I spent time with 2 sides of my 3 sided family. I really enjoyed myself, so much that I didnt get home until 2AM. Today we relax and watch movies.

Today I would like to share my Humbled Artist card, this is the group that I was invited to join about a year ago. Gosh I need to check that out, but I believe its been a year and thats one enjoyable year. I am so honored to create cards and swap with some of CTMH's best! Our guidlines for this round are as follows:

-You must use at least one NEW patterned paper from the SUMMER catalogue. (Splendor; Cherry-O; Passages: or Zippidee)
-You must use at least 6 different stamps on your card.
-You must have at least 8 layers, stacked on top of one another, in one spot.
-You must have at least 2 different embellishments.
-You must use Versamark ink on your card.
-Your card must be square and at least 5" x 5".
-You must use only CTMH products (you can use tools such as punches; embossing or cutting templates from other companies).

The designer papers are from CTMH Creative Basics paper pack. I love this package you receive 12-12x12 B&T Duo papers (6each of 2 designs) and 4 yards of designer ribbon. I popped the candles and the labels off the card, you may remember that I really like to pop things off my card!!

I cut two circle punches scalloped the edges, misted them with water, crumbled them and then let them dry for several hours.I stamped my hedgehog and colored him with chalks. I used my coluzzle to cut my large circle in background paper and Goldrush cardstock, I cut the Goldrush with my scallop scissors. I cut a strip of background paper and then cut the edge with my scallop scissors. I used my piercing tool to add some dots to the Moonstruck and Colonial White. I popped the sentiment with pop dots and added 3 brads. I tell you those pattern books are awesome, worth every dime.

Its the first day of summer, YEAH!! It really didnt feel that way here, Iam enjoying the mild weather. Wont be long and I will be whining about the 100 degree temps. Maybe I can look back on these photos and feel COOL!

We live in the desert but our winters get pretty cold and the wind factor BBRRR, its always windy here. We always have threats of snow, some years we get a few flurries, maybe a light dusting over night. The winter of 2008 did not disappoint, it snowed for hours. It was beautiful, were not used to this so stores close, people pick there kids up from school early etc. Well this day happened to be the wednesday before winter break and this snow gave us 2 snow days starting our winter vacation 2 days early. Its was awesome to get that snow day phone call.

Scrappin my tushy off!! I cant share what I have been working on card wise, just yet. In between stamping I am scrappin !! I hope your enjoying the layouts!

While scrappin and stampin I have become addicted to watching movies on my laptop.
I watched over the last four days, Dear John, Revolutionary Road, Valentines Day ( LOVED IT), Its Complictated (LOVED IT, too funny) and Up in the Air. Gotta love the Red Box!!

I created a quick card to share, simple and clean! Way back when I cut up a bunch of felt flowers with my Sizzix and put them away. I couldnt find them for months all I could remember was I put them some kind of container. As you can see I FOUND THEM!!

I stacked 3 flowers and sewed the button right onto the flower, emossed my card using a CB template and ruffled my ribbon across the card VIOLA!!

I think my contents say I am a Lady who likes to be prepared for anything, I dont like to sit idle. So I make sure I have things on hand to keep me occupied and entertained. I believe everything I have in the picture is a neccessity for me, I have eliminated one item from my purse over the last 6 months and it was my makeup bag.

Can I just say that right now at my house the rap music is blaring at a descent volume from the stinkers room AKA Kameron, I dont mean stinker as in odor but antics and attitude. My Aunt says to me Kam is so sweet that sweet little grin of his is so sweet!! My reply yes he is sweet but hes a STINKER! My husband the basketball finactic is dribbling his basketball and shooting jump shots in the air. YEP theres alot of noise upstairs and downstairs. I think I will pop in my headphones and watch The Lovely Bones, just rented from the Red Box for a buck , gotta love that Red Box. You know whats scary the next generation wont know what Blockbuster Video is and will think its insane that once upon a time we actually drove to a video store to rent a movie for $4.99. Isnt that the weirdest thing ever. Soon we will place video stores up there with the 8 track LOL

Its beautiful outside and the weather as been good (windy) but good this lastg week. I am happy that spring is finally here, but I can feel the change in the temps.

Hope your all having a great Saturday. I smell someone grilling hot dogs in my neighborhood, AAHH the smells of spring/summer. Got my windows open and I hear the birds chirping and the cars whizzing by, enjoying the sounds of spring/summer too!

Check out my loot from a craft sale I stopped at on Thursdays. I picked up some SU chuncky glitter I have wanted for some time only $2 and lots of chip board for $2, $3 & $5. Tons of ribbon , I LOVE ribbon. Lots of FREE catalogs, those are always good for inspiration and ideas!! I wanted to buy more like buttons and textured cardstock, but gave myself a limit.

Hope you dont mind another layout, I have not created one thing all week, can you believe that. It amazes me that when I have the time, unlimited time to create I sometimes dont. Maybe its the summer time vibe, were your suppose to relax and take it easy. Well I definately took it easy this week. Like I said before I didnt do much of anything and it felt great!

For some reason I dont like to have my picture taken anymore and this shot would have never been scraped but you know you have to capture the silly not so coofed shots of your life. So here I am forcing my son to take a pic with me, can you tell he was not so thrilled.

Can you hear the Target commercial playing in your ear?

You have know idea how happy Iam that friday is finally here, well maybe you do I have been kinda counting to the last day of school. Well today was offically the last day of school, I am off for a week and then I will work summer school for 4 weeks minimum days only. Summer school is so more relaxed than the regular school year. We just have lots of field trips and eat lots of good food. Now does it get any better than that.

I cant wait to sleep in tomorrow , I love to sleep in on saturdays. Actually I love to sleep in on any day I can , I just like to sleep!

Todays card is one I created for my Humbled Artist group. Every other month 10 very talented ladies take on the challenge given, (obviously we all dare to take the MISSION LOL) and create some outstanding, fabulous, marvelous, stunning cards. I will take some pics of the rest of the group and post this weekend so you can see with your own eyes.

The guidelines were to use...
A alphabet set
Have at least 8 layers on your card
Use 3 different embellishments
use a stamped image some where on your card
Use some type of embossing, dry or wet
Use 2-4 colors of cardstock from one of CTMH color families

As you can see I dry embossed with my Argyle template, I used the alphabet set called Chocolate, I stamped a flower from another set to be the period for my exclamation point, adding liquid glass and then prisma glitter. The flower looks like a epoxy sticker. I used 2 border stamps to create a different border on the Buttercup yellow and Crystal blue cardstock. Last I added my embellishments to each letter.

Well remember when I said I had created a layout on Sunday, well I have created a layout everyday this week!!! I knew once I got started I wouldnt be able to stop and the ideas would keep coming. I am so excited to be back in the game!!

Only 2 more days until the end of the school year!

Heres a layout I did using my October Girls Loft kit. This is as it says the Man I Love. He always has the funniest look on his face, like I am disturbing him by taking his picture. I have only 4 more days until vacation. I am not doing anything special, its just a week before summer school starts. I plan watching a ton of movies that I have on my watch list and scraping and stamping. One day I would like to go out to some spots here in my town where they frequently shoot videos and movies. One movie being Quinton Terrintinos KILL BILL, its the church. One of the video spots is a gas station and cafe. Doesnt that sound fun?!! I will have to bribe my kids, I will treat them to Sonics they love that place. I will of course post what ever good shots I get.

I am happy to tell you I have scrapped 2 layouts this weekend!!! Using my Girls Loft kits. These kits are unbeweavable totally worth the money.

Todays card was created using Taylors cupcake challenge sketch, so loving the end results. And I finished yesterday, usually I dont make the deadline.

I cut my giant flower using my spellbinders template, I have been using my sizzix and it requires alot of work I think I am going to have to invest in a new machine. I made a ribbon rose, really liking those babies!! and ribbon leaves. Ruffled some wide grograin ribbon and added some buttons!

Hope your having a faulous saturday, its windy, windy, windy here. Its been that way all week, Iam so tire of it. You dare not curl your hair cute or attempt to light the grill you can forget it. Very few spring days for us.

Below you will find a sweet treat of a card. I used a stamp from one of Unitys kits and out of all the many stamps in the kit this was my favorite :) The sentiment came from another Unity kit. I used one of Taylors cupcake sketches #111.

I took the day off to hang out with the husband, breakfast and a movie!! Its a beautiful day, Iam taking my camera along.

Todays card was created for my mommy for Mothers Day, you have seen this sketch before and its now a Favorite. I placed a beautiful wide grograin ribbon on it and crinkled some flowers with a threaded button to finish it off. She loved it as much as I luved making it!

Hello Blogger People!!

Its been a whole week since I last posted, some of you may have noticed;) I have several cards to share but I have literally been trying to figure out how to use my new watermark. I believe I made it WAY more complicated than it should have been. Well I take that back the istructions were very clear BUT some screens were just not opening like she said they would, I actually had to find them and one didnt show at all BUT I found out how to save it without that perticular window. Anywhoo I DID IT. Look at how cool it looks and for only $2, you know that I have been on the hunt for many months for a watermark. Now I will try to figure out how to save my new blog header in a jpeg. It looks really cool but blogger keeps rejecting it.

Okay enough rambling about nothing. I have only 4 days until my son is finished with high school, I think the only thing I wished to end quicker was my labor with this very son LOL. Come on Friday!!!

This awesome card (is that big headed of me) I actually REALLY like this card and think its simple but AWESOME!! The card showcases the May stamp of the month Cherish the Moments. So worth having in your collection, seriously it is!

I used the card pattern TOP VIEW from CTMH Wishes pattern book. I cut a 3 1/2 x 8 size card base in Honey. I added a piece of Cranberry piece of cardstock and layered it on the card base. I hand punched the circles using a circle punch and randomly placed them on top of the cranberry piece. I added the stamped image on top of a piece of black cardstock. I added 4 brads to the corners and adhered to the card. Last I added black grograin ribbon to the card wrapping a small piece of black and white ribbon to it. Final step a button threaded with white hemp. VOILA Oh yea a little bling rhinestone to mark the occasion.

My favorite tree

Unity is celebrating a anniversary, there are challenges going on this week. I thought I would join the FUN. This challenge was to use a bird or tree stamp, I absolutely LUV this tree. Doesnt it look so peaceful and inviting. I can picture this tree out in a grassy pasture, calling the young at heart to sit down in that swing and let go!! I always liked to swing when I was a little girl and couldnt wait to take my baby to the park to swing. I remember the day very well, I was pregnant with my second baby and Kalen was about 14 months old. We went to the park and together we went down the slide and did our share of swinging on the swing. I remember my sweet baby boys face, he luved it! The park was a favorite place to visit a couple of times a week with my boys!

ETA: Happy Cinco De Miayo ( that just doesnt look right)

I stamped the tree twice on colonial white cardstock, the second stamped image I then embossed with my spellbinder label. I popped the label off the card base in the exact spot on the 1st stamped image. I took a strip of blush cardstock and randomly stamped polka dots in blush ink. I embossed a strip of hollyhock cardstock with my EK success border punch. I then ruffled a strip of olive ribbon on top of the hollyhock strip. Last I took several hydrangea flowers I punched with my martha stewart punch and glued them to several branches on the tree.

I really liked the way it turned out, unfortunately with all my hhmm hhaawwing I missed the deadline to post to the boards for a chance to win.

Clean and simple

Good morning to you!! Good Monday too!!!

Here are those cuties I said I had to share with you. AAHHH the simple, clean, crisp card. So quick and fun to make. This set (April stamp of the month) is just too much fun, its not too late to get your hands on one. If your interested I need to hear from you by wednesday via email.

Card #1 I simply embossed my label spellbinders nestibilitie, stamped the flower pot inside and colored. I added a little prisma glitter in the flower centers. I punched two holes to tie that GORGEOUS gingham ribbon in!!

Card #2 I embossed the houndstooth folder on white daisy cardstock. I cut out a spellbinder label stamped the flower pot, on a seperate piece of paper I stamped the flowers and cut them out, I popped the flowers off the label and popped the label off the card. I finished off the card by wrapping more GORGEOUS gingham ribbon around it!

I stamped a random dot in blush on blush cardstock and used my corner rounder on the corners of blush and silhoette paper. I punched my scallop border on blush, bamboo and shilotte papers. I popped the scallops off the card with pop dots wrapping it in organdy ribbon. I used two sized of scallop circle punches to make my flowers. I used my nestibilitie label die to cut out my label, finishing that off by placing my birthday themed stamp on top of the label.

I am very pleased with this vintagey, girly bithday card!!!

Creatively Scrapping on a Wednesday

I cant believe this BUT I actually completed a layout, that means I SCRAPPED something. I havet scrapped in forever, I take out pictures and papers but never get anything done. I freeze and cant seem to move forward. I believe my mind is on overload on all the stuff I view while blogging and when it comes to scrapping my own I cant get anything out. So I thought I would start using sketches to get the ball rolling BECAUSE I know that once I get going the flood gates will open. I am tickled pink with myself.

I finally used one of my kits from The Girls Loft, this is the first time I have used one of my kits. Really Iam serious, I have been a member for 8 months and finally used more than a piece of piece of b/t. I didnt even put a dent in the kit. I also used for the first time my grunge board letters, this stuff in incredible!! Its feels like nothing I have ever felt before in a scrapbook product, it feels leathery, its flexible, bendable and it just bounces back.I inked it with my stamp pad and it was a piece of cake, it took to the ink the butter!

Getting Sketchy on a Monday

I have spent the last several days adding challenge blogs to my challenges folder.Get Sketchy card challenge is one of them, I checked it out going several pages back and I like the card sketches they have so I added to my favorites bar placing it in my challenge folder. I cant remember whos blog I found it on but I thank them!!

Sketch blogs seem to be all the rage right now, I cant believe how many are out there. There are card sketch blogs, scrapbook sketch blog, color blogs and challenge blogs that challenge your creativety. I even made a spiral book to keep track of all the above, that way I can open it up to tuesday and see what blog is posting new sketches etc. and then skip on over there and get to work. I know I wont create every thing they post BUT it will inspire me, challenge me and keep me creating at my own pace:)

So very happy with this card, its crisp with a pop of color. How gorgeous is that organdy ribbon? I added some liquid glass to the body of the butterfly and prisma glitter to help it shimmer!! I popped the circle and scallop piece off the base of the card.Card size is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, I always wonder what sizes the cards are that the ladies post. Incase you wonder too I will now always tell you what my sizes are.

Friday sweet Friday

Well if your seeing this cupcake challenge card that means its FRIDAY, oh yeah!!! Friday sweet Friday your finally here!!

Well the 3 days of cold and rain are leaving BUT due back same time next week AARRGGHH. But its clearing up for our annual Poppy Festival this saturday and sunday and I think I will actually attend. I havent been in years, but with the lousey weather Iam ready for some outdoor activities and plenty of sunshine. I am sure every resident in my desert community is feeling the same and thousands of other Sso Cal residents. So Iam sure it will be pretty crowded. This is exactly why I havent attended in years, but I will brave it!

This challenge looked to me like a tall card, and you know I LOVE tall cards. Add the circles and I was all game. I came upon this fun color combo which turned out to be the same colors from a favorite ALL time paper packet called Lazy Days, in the past I used that color combo with a touch of red. With this color combo I stumbled upon recently the color added was ORANGE. Now if you have been following me for awhile you know orange is my FAVORITE color. Let me say this was so fun to put together using LOTS of favorites!!

I cut out the circles with my punches and my coluzzle. Popped the 3 blue circles off the paper:) I stamped the turtle on the white circle and paper pieced the orange pieces on the turtle shell. I punched the designer paper with my NEW apron lace punch and punched the sweet leaf green cardstock strip with my NEW scallop punch and popped both of the pieces of the card. Simple but clean and striking, at least to me!

Is Monday over yet?

It actually wasnt a bad day at all! But you know with Monday over we are closer to Friday:) Hope your day was GRAND. It was another beautiful day here in So Cal, but the weather man says rain and cool temps are coming to stay for 3 days. I guess spring will stick around at some point.

I was so inspired by a card by Terri Anderson today that I recreated it in a way. Nothing grabs me like clean and simple cards. Heres my take

Just watched one of my favorite commercials, the spelling bee that has been going on for 48 hrs and every contestant has spelled EVERY word right. Its hilarious. Another fav is the Old Spice commercial, look at your man now look at me, look at your man now look at me, its the best. Just thought I would share!!

Hey Friends its Friday WOOHOO!!! I am going to play Bunco with some friends tonight, never played it before BUT it sounds like a night of FUN and I could win some money (stamping money!!)BUT before going there I plan on stopping at Joannes AGAIN for a new punch and some nestibilites. Yep they now sell nestibilities and there 40% off. Oh yeah I ordered Unitys Deal-a-Day 6 stamps for ONLY $9 and one of them being one I have wanted for almost a year. Cant wait for them to get here!!

Remember those stamps I picked up for $1, well I stamped with them last night. Here they are simple BUT super CUTE!!

I used craft cardstock and embossed a square nesti in the right corner. I stamped the image inside and colored using my CTMH markers. Stamped a simple sentiment and used some bitty brads as my brackets. Final touch some gingham ribbon VIIOOLA!!

Wednesday happenings

First I want to share that my son got his drivers license today, YEAH!!! Hes one of those late bloomers when it came to getting that done. He is a good driver BUT the mom in me is okay if he wants me to drive him around for awhile BUT I know he needs to get out there on his own to get comfortable and for me to get comfortable with it. I guess on a day when Iam really out of it I will wave in off :) I am happy for him.

Second I found these cuties in the dollar bin at Joannes!! Fruit seems to be a hot trend for summer, are they cute or what?

Third my hubby helped with dinner last night, he fried chicken for the first time in his life. It was so nice not to stand over the skillet until it was all done. And yes the chicken was scruptious, he did very well.I had rice and veggie dutie, that took only minutes, it felt like I had the night off;)

Heres my card for today, I am on a alphabet kick from my challenge last week.

I made a border of glitter around the sentiment. I also glittered up the U and added a few liquid glass dots covered in glitter here and there on the word sparkle. I added many layers of scallop pieces to the bottom of the card. Oh yeah a couple of buttons to finish it off.

Challenges, challenges, challenges

Happy Monday to you!! I went into work not really wanting to be there, so I was rather grumpy now top that off with not being a morning person and it makes for a slighty bad attitude. I just dont do mornings and I HATE IT that I have to start work at 7 AM. Who does that, rather who should have to do that? I got better after about a hour or two and a nice cup of coffee:)

Now for some one with the grumpies I managed to come home and fold to baskets of clothes, dust the living room, sweep and mop the living room, entry way, kitchen, family room and guest bath room. I swept with my new SWIFTER sweeper, this thing is amazing. Perfect if you have a pet that lives indoors and the SWIFTER even mops!! This makes my mid week cleaning a pinch. The wet swifter is scented with febreeze AAHH, the start up kit gives you 3 coupons for refills. OH I forgot that I vacummed too!!

My card today covered three challenges. A sketch from the Got Sketches book by Paper Crafts, this book is going to be AWESOME I cant wait to get my hands on one. The colors are from Jennetts color me Monday color challenge. The use of alphabet is from my Humbled Artist swap challenge. Cant wait to share that card with you. I am ooberly excited about how it all turned out, can you see me smiling:))

Hello blogging friends, ITS FRIDAY!! Man am I happy, I cant wait to sleep in tomorrow. My kiddos are out with friends celebrating Kalens 18th birthday ( yeah hes still celebrating) a little surprise dinner @Chilis and I cant wait for them to be ready so I can scoop them up and go to bed. So for the time being I create and blog :)

The weather here is gorgeous and feels like spring BUT the rain is coming back Monday. So whatcha got going this weekend? I have no definate plans but if tomorrow is anything like today I plan on getting out of the house!

Heres a tweet card I made, I think I will send it to someone. I sent my Mom a card about a week ago and she was so moved and so surprised. That made me feel good and I plan on sending out cards more often to friends and family. Yes I hoard my cards.

I paper pieced my sweet dollar stamp twice in two different papers. Stitched on the vanilla cream cardstock with brown thread. I used my EK success emboss border punch to punch on the Hollyhock textured cardstock and peeked a tiny bit of Juniper cardstock. So simple and sweet!
